FAQ

Photography Tips for Hiring GK Photography

  • Wedding Photography

Q: How far in advance should I book GK Photography for my wedding?

Most couples book 9–12 months in advance, especially for peak wedding season in New Orleans.

Q: Do you offer full-day coverage?

Yes! My signature wedding package includes unlimited coverage, allowing me to capture your entire day—from bridal prep to the last dance.

Q: What style do you shoot in?

I blend fine art and documentary photography, creating timeless images with authentic emotion and stunning detail.

  • Commercial & Corporate Events

Q: What kinds of events do you cover?

Trade shows, conferences, company parties, product launches, and corporate branding sessions.

Q: How can event photography help my business?

Professional images elevate your brand, boost social media presence, and give you marketing content that lasts long after the event.

Q: Do you offer hourly or day rates?

Yes—packages are flexible. From short corporate meetings to multi-day trade shows, I’ll tailor coverage to your needs.

  • Headshots & Branding

Q: What should I wear for my headshot session?

Choose solid colors or subtle patterns that align with your professional brand. Avoid overly busy prints. Classic tones always photograph well.

Q: How do I prepare for my session?

Bring a few outfit options, make sure your clothes are pressed, and keep hair/makeup natural but polished. A quick touch-up kit (powder, lip balm, lint roller) is a smart idea.

Q: How long does a headshot session take?

Most sessions last 20–30 minutes, but team/group headshots can take longer depending on the number of people.

  • Graduate & Senior Portraits

Q: What locations are best for graduate portraits in New Orleans?

The French Quarter, Jackson Square, City Park, and Audubon Park are client favorites. Each offers a unique mix of history, greenery, and iconic New Orleans style. You can also book sessions for a fee at certain venues.

Q: What should I bring to my session?

Cap and gown, diploma, school gear, or any props that highlight your achievements and personality. Multiple casual outfits are great when going downtown and the park. I always like working within the last 1 ½ hours of sunlight for optimal quality of light.

Q: When should I schedule my senior portraits?

Honestly, I’m working with graduates all year long, so whenever you are ready. Be aware of the rush during April and May with graduation ceremonies quickly arriving. You’ll need time for announcements and other items printed to arrive from our pro labs.

  • General Process & Booking

    Q: How do I book a session?

Text or call me at 504-957-8412 or email george@gkphotography.com. We’ll schedule a consultation and tailor a package to your needs.

Q: How long until I receive my photos?

For portrait sessions, an image teaser or two will be shared the following day, and all of the edited imagery will be seen at the sales session. Wedding photography also has fast favorites shared, and the final delivery of images will be available for download within 2 weeks.

Q: How long do print orders take?

Online orders will show delivery options via shipping options. Orders directly with GK will be delivered within 2 weeks if not sooner, depending on what is ordered. Canvas Wall Art requires more time, while smaller print sizes are super fast.

Q: Do you offer albums and prints?

Absolutely! I specialize in custom albums and fine-art prints so your images live beyond the screen.
