Jordan & Nicholas Engagement Session in New Orleans
Nobody likes rescheduling because of the rain, but when the fourth reschedule finally turns into a beautiful day, you thank the good Lord for the patience because it was absolutely worth the wait.
Jordan and Nicholas brought their energy, personality, and authentic style into every frame during their engagement session throughout New Orleans City Park and the surrounding areas. Sessions like this remind me why I love photographing couples who truly embrace who they are. Their clothing choices were completely on point and perfectly reflected them as individuals and as a couple. When clients dress in a way that genuinely represents their personality, the imagery naturally becomes stronger, more emotional, and more timeless.
As the session unfolded, I found myself flipping the creative switch toward a more editorial and modeling-inspired aesthetic. Their chemistry simply demanded it. Jordan carries herself with confidence and elegance, while Nicholas has a presence that feels like it stepped right off the pages of a magazine. His smile is infectious, and his strong facial features photograph effortlessly in every light and angle.
There was also a personal connection that made the session even more fun for me creatively. I’m a rock and roll drummer, and Jordan is the incredible lead singer of the band Karma. The artistic energy between the two of them translated beautifully through the lens. You could feel their connection in every laugh, every glance, and every genuine moment they shared together.
One thing I constantly tell anyone standing in front of my camera is this: being comfortable in your own skin starts with dressing in a way that represents your inner self. The more your clothing reflects who you truly are, the more natural and authentic the images become. I can create cool imagery all day long, but when clients set the tone with confidence and personality, the magic happens naturally.
Jordan absolutely nailed the color palette for this engagement session. The earthy greens and warm browns throughout City Park worked perfectly with their outfits and elevated the entire visual experience. Every location felt cohesive, cinematic, and alive because the tones complemented both the environment and their personalities so well.
The way Jordan lights up when Nicholas makes her laugh was honestly my favorite part of the day. Those genuine reactions and real moments are what make engagement photography so meaningful. It was a session full of style, emotion, laughter, and connection — everything you could ask for as a photographer.
Cheers to Jordan and Nicholas and to what is going to be an incredibly fun wedding celebration in the near future!
